Welcome to another week of FAQ Friday! Each Friday we’ll answer a Frequently Asked Question to help our community learn more about the home inspection industry and learn more about our company in particular.
Q: How long does an inspection take to perform?
A: For a Full Home Inspection, plan for an average inspection length of 2 ½ to 3 hours, unless the home is smaller than 1,200 sq ft. However, you can expect the duration of the inspection to exceed the average 2 ½ to 3 hours if the home is larger than 2,500 sq ft and/or if additional services are added. The inspector’s time on-site also depends on factors such as occupancy, age of the home, condition of the home, as well as additional buildings (sheds, detached garages, etc).
We understand that your time is valuable. That is why we make sure to work diligently on-site to stay within the estimated timeframe, while also being mindful to gather sufficient information about a property, educate our clients, take time to sufficiently answer questions on-site, and produce a thorough, well-documented inspection report. From the start of the inspection to the finished report, you get 100% from us; excellent, 5-star service is our goal.
